Dr. André St George

Dr. André St George did his undergraduate studies at the University of Waterloo. He received his Doctorate of Optometry degree with Honors in 1987. Dr. André St George opened Gloucester Family Optometrists in 1993 to serve the needs of the growing bilingual community of East Ottawa.

In 1992 in partnership with his wife, Dr. Evelyn St George, Dr. André St George opened a second practice, Almonte Family Optometrists. In 1993, he received his training in therapeutic pharmaceutical agents from Northeastern State University, College of Optometry, Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Dr. André St George enjoys a full scope practice in both his practice locations with an emphasis on ocular health and visual care for all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics, pre- and post-surgical care, laser vision correction consultations and contact lenses. Dr. André St George is a member in good standing with the College of Optometrists of Ontario, the Canadian Association of Optometrists, the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Ottawa Society of Optometrists. He represented Eastern Ontario on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Association of Optometrists for 10 years and was a member of various committees including Chair of the Occupational Vision Program and a member of the Executive committee. Dr. André St George is also involved in the community by providing eye health and vision information to various organizations such as well baby and school age parent groups and hospital based programs for diabetic patients and seniors.

Dr. André St George and Dr. Evelyn St George have 5 children, Stefan, Brianna, Erik, Alex and Isabelle. Much of his free time is spent involved as a volunteer or spectator with his children’s sports activities. Born and raised in Northeastern Ontario in Sturgeon Falls, Dr. André St George still enjoys the outdoors, boating, fishing, waterskiing, downhill skiing and also playing hockey.

Dr. Evelyn St George

Dr. Evelyn St George did her undergraduate studies at the University of Western Ontario. She received her Doctorate of Optometry degree with Honors in 1988 and joined her husband, Dr. André St George, at Gloucester Family Optometrists. In 1993, Dr. Evelyn St George in partnership with Dr. André St George opened a second practice, Almonte Family Optometrists.

In 1993, she received her training in therapeutic pharmaceutical agents from Northeastern State University, College of Optometry, Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Dr. Evelyn St George enjoys seeing patients of all ages in both her practice locations. She has a full scope practice including ocular health assessment, pre- and post-operative care, contact lenses, laser vision correction consultations and vision care. She is also committed to providing eye health and vision information to her community. Dr. Evelyn St George has made several presentations to community organizations such as parent and seniors groups and as well as groups with specific ocular and visual needs, such as post-stroke patients and individuals with diabetes. Dr. Evelyn St George is a member in good standing with the College of Optometrists of Ontario, the Canadian Association of Optometrists, the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Ottawa Society of Optometrists. She also served for several years on the Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents Committee of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and was a consultant for the College of Optometrists of Ontario on Visual Perception.

Dr. Evelyn St George and Dr. André St George have 5 children, Stefan, Brianna, Erik, Alex and Isabelle. Over the years, the children have been involved in many sports and activities including hockey, soccer, dance and gymnastics. In her free time, Dr. Evelyn St George enjoys supporting her children in their activities. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the Ottawa Gymnastics Centre for several years and continues to volunteer there. Dr. Evelyn St George also very much enjoys spending time outdoors at the cottage, reading and cooking.

Dr. Karen Leung

Dr. Karen Leung joined optometrists Drs André and Evelyn St. George in their Almonte and Gloucester practices as an associate in 2010.

She graduated from the University of Ottawa with a BSc in Ophthalmic Medical Technology in 2006. During her training at the University of Ottawa Eye Institute as an ophthalmic technologist, Dr. Leung has had the wonderful opportunity of working with ophthalmologists to provide specialized diagnostic testing in a variety of sub-specialties in different hospital and remote settings; this included providing eye care in Northwestern Ontario with the CNIB Eye Van and assisting in primary eye care in Cape Dorset and Iqaluit, Nunavut. Dr. Leung then continued to pursue her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo. She interned at the John-Kenyon American Eye Institute in Louisville, Kentucky where emphasis was placed on the treatment and management of ocular diseases, and pre- and post-operative management of cataract and refractive surgery. She graduated in 2010 with honours. Dr. Leung is a member in good standing with the College of Optometrists of Ontario, the Ontario Association of Optometrists, and the Ottawa Society of Optometrists. Dr. Leung enjoys a full scope of practice with an emphasis on ocular health and vision care for all ages.

Dr. Leung is happily married and in her spare time, she loves spending time outdoors and baking. She especially enjoys cross-country running, tennis, and skiing. She also takes great joy in serving in her local church both on the music team and as a teacher to the children and youth.

Dr. Brad Perras

Dr. Brad Perras received his Bachelor of Science degree from McMaster University and then moved south to attend the Indiana University School of Optometry where he received his Doctorate of Optometry in 2011.

Previous clinical experience includes internships with the U.S. Veterans Affairs Hospital in Pensacola, FL; an ophthalmology clinic in Atlanta, GA, specializing in ocular disease; and several primary care optometric clinics in Indianapolis and Bloomington, IN. Dr. Perras gained valuable experience in contact lens fitting, pre and post-operative cataract and refractive surgical care, glaucoma management, corneal disease, low vision, pediatrics, and binocular vision. He is an active member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO), the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO), and the Ottawa Society of Optometrists (OSO).


Dr. Perras was born and raised in nearby Cornwall, Ontario, where he practiced for two years after completing school. He is excited to be joining the Gloucester and Almonte Family Optometrists clinics. Dr. Perras enjoys playing hockey, golf, and travelling, but most of his time is spent at home with his wife, Teresa, and their beautiful daughter, Juliet. Dr. Perras is also looking forward to welcoming a new baby boy in May.

Ann C.C.O.A.

Office Manager - Gloucester

Ann joined Gloucester Family Optometrists in 2000. Her current position of Office Manager allows her to use the extensive knowledge that she has gained with her over 19 years of experience in Optometric offices. Ann graduated from the Canadian Association of Optometrists as a Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant in 2007. Ann is very outgoing and enjoys using her expertise to assist our patients. She is fluent in both French and English. In her spare time, Ann enjoys rollerblading, biking, skating, skiing, spending time with her kids and travelling.

Wendy C.C.O.A.

Lab Technician - Gloucester

Wendy joined Gloucester Family Optometrists in 2005 as our Lab Technician. Wendy is originally from Ottawa but relocated to Windsor from 2001 to 2005. While in Windsor she started her career in an optical laboratory. Wendy graduated from the Canadian Association of Optometrists as a Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant in 2007. She has an upbeat personality and loves to work with our patients. Wendy is trilingual, speaking Spanish, French and English. In her spare time, Wendy enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and dancing.

Courtney

Optometric Assistant - Gloucester

Courtney joined Gloucester Family Optometrists in October 2014. She graduated from the Tourism and Travel program at Algonquin College but decided on a career change to the optical industry. Courtney is looking forward to both the opportunities and challenges in her new career with Gloucester Family Optometrists. In her spare time, Courtney enjoys shopping and spending time with her family.

Lorraine C.C.O.A.

Office Manager - Almonte

Lorraine joined Almonte Family Optometrists in June 2001. She graduated from the Canadian Association of Optometrists as a Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant in September 2002. Lorraine has an extensive knowledge of all aspects of Optometric practice. She enjoys using her knowledge to help our patients with their vision and eye care needs. In her private life, Lorraine is active in the Almonte Civitan Club, raising funds to assist our community. The Civitan Club is a wonderful service organization with a focus on supporting the mentally, physically and developmentally challenged.

Optometric Assistant - Almonte

Karen joined the Almonte Family Optometrists in October 2012. She graduated with honours from the Medical Office Administration course at Everest College. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her dogs, watching movies and being with her family.
